Doparoot vs Rosie (2026)
We make Doparoot, so we are biased, and you should read this knowing that. We have tried to be fair to Rosie, and where they are the better pick we say so in plain words.
Short version
Rosie is the cheapest sensible way to stop calls ringing out after hours. Doparoot costs more and is built around your calls instead of your website.
- Pick Rosie if: you want after-hours and overflow cover for as little as possible, book through Google Calendar or Calendly, or get Spanish-speaking callers.
- Pick Doparoot if: you want it built and tested on your real calls and looked after, for a flat fee.
- Watch on Rosie: its terms say going over your minutes moves you up a plan for at least three months, payments are non-refundable, and the entry plan texts a booking link rather than booking.
- Watch on Doparoot: we cost several times more and take two to three weeks to go live.

The real difference
Rosie is a self-serve AI answering service aimed squarely at small businesses, home services in particular. It reads your website and Google profile, you forward your calls, and it answers. Plans are flat monthly tiers with a minute allowance.
Doparoot is built for you, on the calls you actually get, not on what your website happens to say.
Where Rosie is better
- Price. Its entry plan costs a small fraction of ours.
- Speed. Seven-day trial, live in minutes.
- Spanish on every call.
- Calendar booking into Google Calendar, Calendly and Acuity on its higher plans.
- Extras like a website chat widget, spam filtering and its own phone apps.
Where Doparoot is better
- You do not set it up. We write the questions, the rules and the hand-off with you, test it against the calls you actually get, and it does not go live until you say so.
- It only offers times you approved, so it cannot book you across town at four.
- It hands off the moment somebody asks for a person. No arguing, no “let me try first”.
- A missed call still gets a text back within seconds, and the details land on your phone, in the same app as your texts and reviews.
- Minutes at cost, flat fee on top. A busy month does not raise the service fee.
Two things in Rosie’s terms are worth knowing before you sign up. If you go over your plan’s minutes, it moves you to a higher plan for that month and at least the next two. And payments are non-refundable. Neither is unusual. Both are worth knowing in a busy season.
Rosie also connects to Jobber, Housecall Pro and ServiceTitan through Zapier, which sends the call details over afterwards rather than booking the job straight in.
Where we fall short
- We cost more than the self-serve AI tools, and at low call volume it is not close.
- There are no humans on our side. The AI hands the caller to you. If you cannot take it either, it takes the details and you call back.
- It is not instant. We build it on your real calls and test it with you first, which takes about two to three weeks. Some tools are live this afternoon.
Our pick
For a business that wants the answering built around its own rules, tested before it goes live, and looked after by somebody: Doparoot.
For a solo operator who only wants something to pick up after six and will set it up themselves: Rosie, on a plan that books into your calendar rather than texting a link.
Questions
How does Rosie charge?
Flat monthly tiers, each with a minute allowance. Their terms say going over moves you up a tier for at least three months. Current prices are at heyrosie.com/pricing.
Does Rosie book appointments?
On its higher plans it books directly into Google Calendar, Calendly, Acuity and Appointlet. The entry plan texts the caller a booking link instead.
Does Rosie work with Jobber or Housecall Pro?
Through Zapier, which passes call and lead details across after the call. It does not book the job straight into them.
Is Doparoot worth more than Rosie?
Only if you value having it built, tested and maintained for you. If you are happy to do that yourself, Rosie costs less.
